The inauguration of the new branch of the French Institute in Sheikh Zayed, that is witnessing vast urban expansion, reflects France's interest in strengthening ties with Egypt and its desire to respond to the growing demand in Egypt to learn the French language.

This is the fourth branch of the FIE in Greater Cairo, following those opened in Mounira, Heliopolis and New Cairo -- the latter opened in 2019. The FIE has a branch in Alexandria, which was inaugurated in 1967.

The institute is one of the cooperation institutions affiliated with the French Embassy in Egypt. It offers French language courses and supervises the French certificates in Egypt, in addition to conducting training courses for teachers and teaches the Arabic language via its Arabic Language Department in Cairo. This is in addition to the cooperation policies it is working on in the cultural, scientific, and educational fields. It also follows up with the students who complete their master's degree in France after registering them in the offices of Campus France.

The French Institute in Sheikh Zayed offers general French language courses for adults and children. it is based on a small team as well as excellent teachers and new cadres.

Starting 1 March 2020, the Sheikh Zayed branch will start its French language courses.
