Synergy, the production company behind the Ramadan TV series The Choice (El-Ekhteyar), has announced that it is working on a new season for the hit show.

"Wait for us in Ramadan 2021; The Choice," the head of Synergy Tamer Morsi said on Facebook.

The Choice is based on the true story of Ahmed Saber El-Mansi, commander of the 103th brigade, who was killed in an ambush by terrorists in the Egyptian city of Rafah, Sinai, in 2017.

The series was one of the most popular television offerings this Ramadan, trending and dominating discussion on social media during the holy month.

The series stars Amir Karara, Ahmed El-Awady, and Dina Foad.

The series is directed by Peter Mimi and written by Bahir Dowidar.
