The film portrays the battle of a Portuguese immigrant couple with three children living in London, struggling to keep a decent life and fighting strict laws where the social services are concerned for the safety of the children and then decide to take them away from the parents.

Listen stars Lúcia Moniz, Sophia Myles and Ruben Garcia.

Following the screening, GFF's Artistic Director Amir Ramses introduced the cast of the film on stage and expressed his happiness for screening Listen in its MENA premiere as well as competing in the festival's official competition.

Ana Rocha De Sousa expressed her happiness in that her film’s MENA premiere was held at GFF adding that “the idea of the film is based on reality, and doesn’t only exist on screen. I’ve lived this reality and I hope that my message reaches everyone in the world.”

The fourth edition of El Gouna Film Festival takes place between 23 and 31 October.
