MAAT for Contemporary Art|Cairo Contemporary Dance Centre is inviting Cairo’s audience to “20 Years MAAT” (7 to 21 December), ten days of celebrating dance on the occasion of its 20th anniversary. It will include different events: dance performances, dance classes, music, and talks (For any inquiries or booking through the phone, call 16826).

Thurs 12, 8pm: The Platform 4 is a showcase for research, experimentation and projects developed and performed by the current students and alumni of the MAAT|Contemporary Dance School and under the mentorship of Karima Mansour. In this edition of The Platform, MAAT|CCDC presents four short dance performances that are followed by a Q&A session on each of the performing nights. 

Fri 13, 8pm: MAAT’s Outreach Programme presents an evening of performances created by MAAT|Contemporary Dance School’s talented alumni that are performed by underprivileged children who are fostered through the following foundations: Banaty Foundation, Ana El Masry Foundation, FACE Foundation, and Agouza Girls’ Home.

Sat 14, 8pm: In order to give everyone a chance to dance, MAAT|CCDC opens its doors for free dance class trials. Adults and children of all ages, social backgrounds and physical conditions are invited to try out one of the various disciplines taught at MAAT|CCDC.

Room Art Space

New Cairo

The new branch of Room Art Space hosts live music shows on a daily basis. Room’s new branch is located in The Spot mall in front of AUC gate on 4,370 square metres with indoor and outdoor areas where live music events and concerts are featured on a daily bases, hosting up to 400 guests per event, and its open from 9am till after midnight.
