Ahly announced on Thursday the signing of Bidvest winger Phakamani Mahlambi for the next four years to link the player until 2021.

"Phakamani Mahlambi penned a four-year contract with club," read a statement on the club's official website on Thursday.

The 19-year-old, who has been one of the hottest prospects in the South African football, made many fine displays last season scoring six goals in 17 league games with Bidvest.

He was linked for a move to African champions Sundowns but the youngstar opted for the Cairo giants.

Mahlambi is Ahly's sixth new-signing in this summer transfer window after the arrival of Smouha's duo Islam Mohareb and  Ayman Ashraf, Maqassa's midfielder Hisham Mohamed, Moroccan striker Walid Azaro and Syrian defender Abdullah Al-Shamy.

Defending champions Ahly are set to start their league campaign on Sunday when they face Talae El-Geish in the Egyptian league opener.
