A superb free-kick from Egypt winger Amr Warda lifted Atromitos to the top of the Greek league with a 2-0 away win over Xanthi on Monday.

The 24-year-old curled a 25-yard free-kick into the top corner of the net to put his team ahead in the 41st minute.

It's his second league goal and his third with Atromitos since joining last summer from PAOK on a season-long loan.

Warda was substituted in the 73rd minute, just before Nicolas Diguiny wrapped up the win with seven minutes remaining.

Atromitos are now top of the Greek Super League with 19 points after nine games.
