Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry has blamed Monday's 1-1 draw against Wadi Degla on a combination of hastiness and bad luck, saying his players missed several chances to score.
"We were unlucky, and we also misused the chances we got, because we played hastily," El-Badry said in a press conference after the Egyptian Premier League match.
On Monday, playmaker Abdallah El-Said gave Ahly the lead by converting a penalty on the hour. However, Ahmed El-Shennawi netted the equalizer for Wadi Degla one minute later.
"We deserved to score lots of goals before we got the penalty, but the match was very strange," El-Badry said.
The Reds coach has come under fire recently for failing to end the club's poor run, with the defending champions winning just once in their last four matches.
Ahly, who have lost nine points in the last four games (one loss, two draws and a single win), are now second in the league table with 30 points, four behind leaders Ismaily.
With two matches in hand, Ahly will face Petrojet in the next league match on Friday.
