Liverpool’s Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah has been honored for his brilliant run in March with the EA Sports Player of the Month award, the Premier League announced on Friday, his third time receiving the accolade.

The 25-year-old is the first player in Premier League history to win the award three times within the same season, having added to his November and February accolades, the English Premier League official website announced.

"I feel good to win it again, we had good results in the month so that’s the most important thing," Salah said.

Salah hopes to surpass the record for most goals scored in a 38-match Premier League season, jointly held by Alan Shearer (1995/96), Cristiano Ronaldo (2007/08) and Luis Suarez (2013/14), with 31.

"I’m very proud to see myself fighting to break the record for the Premier League," Salah was quoted as saying on the English Premier League's official website.

Salah is currently the Premier League's top scorer with 29 goals.

"I’m thinking about each game. That’s my target, I want to score, I want to help the team to win again," he explained.

"It’s still five games to go, there’s a big chance, let’s see," the Egyptian star concluded.

Salah was the first Egyptian to receive the Player of the Month award in Premier League (PL) history when he won last November.

English PL pundits, captains and fans gave Salah their votes to claim the award ahead of five other nominees: Son Heung-min, Romelu Lukaku, David Silva, Cenk Tosun and Chris Wood.

Salah, who joined Liverpool last summer from Serie A side Roma, has taken the Premier League by storm this season, scoring 29 goals to take his overall tally to 39 goals in 44 appearances on all fronts.

Salah was instrumental in Egypt's successful campaign in the World Cup qualifiers, which saw the Pharaohs reach football's most prestigious tournament for the first time since 1990.
