Egypt's star winger Mohamed Salah has been called by Liverpool's coach Jurgen Klopp to join the team's crew for the pre-season tour of the US, which begins on Saturday.
Klopp also called the team's players Sadio Mane of Senegal and Marko Grujic of Serbia to travel on the trip as part of the preparations for the start of the new season.
"That’s the start for them (Salah, Mane and Grujic)," Klopp told Liverpool's official website.
"They had their holiday [after the World Cup] and then they’ll come with us to the USA. They only had three weeks’ holiday so it means they didn’t lose too much." the Liverpool manager said.
The trio, whose national teams were eliminated at the group stage in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, are set to return to the Reds in time for the week-long trip to the US.
"We have to see how they present and then we’ll see if they can play in the games. They will be there. And then the last group [of World Cup players] comes much later," the German tactician concluded.
Mohamed Salah, who recently signed a new long-term contract with the club, had a remarkable first season with Liverpool, scoring 44 goals in all competitions and helping the club reach the Champions League final.
He was named the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and Football Writers’ Association’s Footballer of the Year.
Liverpool will compete in the International Champions Cup with fixtures against Borussia Dortmund in Charlotte, Manchester City in East Rutherford, and Manchester United in Ann Arbor.
