Zamalek beat Maqassa 1-0 in their previous Egyptian Premier League game (Ahram)
Zamalek are looking to keep their position on the top of the Egyptian Premier League table when they face Smouha in the 7th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Tuesday.
The Cairo giants are looking to build on their recent string of successful performances, which saw them defeat Talae El-Geish 3-0 after crushing Enppi 4-1.
Zamalek are leading the league table with 13 points, one point ahead of second-place Pyramids. Meanwhile, arch-rivals and current title holders Ahly are fourth with 11 points, with one game in hand due to their participation in the CAF Champions League.
The White's Swiss coach Christian Gross has expressed his pleasure by the players' performance during the previous games, confirming they are ready to march on in the league games.
Zamalek Chairman Mortada Mansour also has praised the performance of his team's players during the 3-0 win over Talae El-Geish.
"We have the best players in Egypt, even the substitute players are at a high level," Mansour told a television programme after the game.
"We have talented players on the bench like Ayman Hefni, Kahraba, Abdallah Gomaa, Antar, and Madboul, who are capable of playing better than the players in the starting lineup," he said.
"It's the management's task to sign talented players to ease the mission of the team's coach to make use of them," the Zamalek president said.
Smouha are 7th in the Egyptian Premier League teams' table with 9 points after playing 6 games.
