Ahly have announced that winger Eslam Mohareb is fit for the CAF Champions League final against Esperance, while Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi will return to action after three weeks.

The Cairo giants will host Tunisian side Esperance in the first leg of the CAF Champions League final on Friday, and the second leg will be played in Tunisia a week after. They will also face the UAE's Al-Wasl late on Sunday in the first leg of the Arab tournament’s (Zayed Champions Cup) round of 16.

"Ahly's technical staff decided to rest Mohareb in the game against Al-Wasl, after he suffered from fatigue, to make sure he is fit for the game against Esperance," Ahly's doctor Khaled Mahmoud was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

Meanwhile, Ahly's doctor confirmed that Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi is close to returning to training after recovering from cruciate ligament injury last July.

"Ajayi will return to training after three weeks, as he is improving in his recovery programme," Khaled Mahmoud said.

Ahly, the eight-time African champions, made their way to their second consecutive CAF Champions League final to face off with two-time champions Esperance of Tunisia.
