Ahly have extended the contract of the team's key winger Moamen Zakaria for three years without disclosing the financial details, putting an end to the player's time out of action ahead of the January transfer window.
"Ahly's football director held a meeting with Moamen Zakaria in the club's headquarter as the player agreed to put pen to paper for a new contract with the team," read a statement on the club's official website.
The 30-year-old Zakaria was out of action for a long time after he said that he would sign a new contract with Ahly on the condition that he gets a pay raise. Ahly's management had refused the players request, saying that the renewal must comply with the regulations of the club’s football committee.
Zakaria, whose contract was to expire by the end of the ongoing season, returned to Ahly last summer after concluding his six-month loan deal with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahly.
