Nigerian Ahly forward Junior Ajayi returned to training on Friday after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury that had sidelined him for five months.

The 22-year-old forward had sustained the injury during the game against Botswana outfit Township Rollers in the 4th round of the CAF Champions League group stage last July.

Ajayi participated in the Red Devils' training session as part of preparations for the game against Talae El-Geish, which was postponed from week 14 of the Egyptian Premier League and is scheduled to be played on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Ahly defender Ahmed Fathi, left-back Ali Maaloul and goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawi continue their rehab to recover from injuries that have sidelined them in recent games.

Ahly are 10th on the Egyptian Premier League table with 17 points from nine games. Should they win their rescheduled matches, they will only be three points behind leaders and arch rivals Zamalek.
