TP Mazembe forward Tresor Mputo has been ruled out of Zamalek's Champions League clash on Friday due to illness.

The 34-year-old skipper failed to train with the team over the past few days and won't be available for the game.

"Tresor Mputo will miss the trip to Cairo. He will be supervised by the medical staff and the coach has picked defensive midfielder Vital Ouraga of Benin for the trip," TP Mazembe general manager Frederic Katengie tweeted on Monday.

The DR Congo giants will leave Lubumbashi on Monday afternoon and are scheduled to arrive in Cairo in the early hours of Tuesday.

The five-time African champions have already secured their passage to the knockout stage after picking 10 points from their previous four matches, far ahead of second-placed Zamalek (7 points), and Primero de Agosto of Angola and Zesco of Zambia, who each have two points.

The Whites need two points from their next couple of games to reach the quarter finals.
