The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on Tuesday that it is extending the suspension of all football activities in Egypt for 15 more days.

"In accordance on the decisions issued by the Egyptian prime minister imposing a curfew in the country for two weeks starting 25 March, the EFA has decided to extend the suspension of the football activities from 30 March for 15 more days," read a statement published on the EFA's official Facebook page on Tuesday.

"The decision applies to all grades of local competitions and all ages," the statement added.

The EFA initially suspended all its activities for 15 days on 15 March over the coronavirus outbreak.

Earlier on Tuesday Egypt imposed a partial curfew from 7 pm to 6 am for two weeks as of Wednesday morning as part of stricter measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

The decision includes shutting down all youth centers and training grounds.

Egyptian clubs have already halted their trainings and asked their players to train at home until further notice.

The Confederation of African Football have also followed the footsteps of other football entities after suspending all competitions to stem the spread of new virus.

According to the latest health ministry statement issued on Monday, Egypt has registered 366 coronavirus cases, including 19 fatalities.
