Greek champions Olympiacos have reportedly targeted Ahly's out-of-favour Moroccan striker Walid Azaro to be their plan B in case their negotiations to extend the stay of Egypt's striker Ahmed "Kouka" Hassan fail.

According to a report by Greek website SDNA on Monday, Olympiacos coach Pedro Martins wants to keep Kouka, who has been on loan from Portuguese side Braga since January.

The towering 27-year-old striker has scored six goals in 14 league games for Olympiacos, prompting them to their 45th title.

It was his second loan spell at the Greek giants as he had already spent the 2018-2019 season at the Piraeus-based club.

Olympiacos hopes to extend Kouka's loan or make his move permanent but they are afraid they cannot meet the price tag put on him by Braga, which would not be less than 2.5 million euro.

They already have Azaro, 25, on their radar, however. The pacy striker has been on loan at Saudi side Ettifaq but won't extend his stay due to financial disagreement.

Morocco's international, who joined Ahly in 2017 helping them to two league titles and claiming the Golden Boot award in 2018, fell down the pecking order under coach Rene Weiler which has caused a rift between them and forced him out.

Azaro wants to play regular football in order to boost his international career and book a permanent spot in the Atlas Lions squad, and now with him being blacklisted in Saudi Arabia he would welcome any move away from Ahly.

Swiss coach Weiler has already brought a replacement in January after signing Senegalese striker Aliou Badji.

However, it is expected that Ahly, who signed Azaro for $1.4 million three years ago, won't let him leave for a price below $2 million.
