The Moroccan duo Achraf Bencharki and Mohamed Ounajem arrived in Cairo Wednesday in order to rejoin Zamalek ahead of the resumption of the Egyptian Premier League.

The Moroccan forwards faced difficulties in returning to Zamalek due to flight disturbances caused by the global coronavirus pandemic.

Bencharki and Ounajem are scheduled to perform a PCR test before joining the White Knights’ training sessions. This will prevent the Moroccans from entering the squad for the team’s first league game against Masry Thursday.

The Egyptian Premier League is due to resume Thursday after almost four months of suspension due to Covid-19.

Before the suspension, Zamalek was fourth on the table with 31 points after 16 matches, while leaders Ahly have 49 points after 17 matches.

The Cairo giants will play a vital African Champions League semi-final clash against Raja Casablanca of Morocco in September.
