Ahly winger Walid Soliman has been ruled out of the game against Gouna FC in the Egyptian Premier League on Wednesday due to injury.
The 35-year-old winger was examined on Monday by the medical staff in order to assess his readiness during the upcoming critical period for the team.
Ahly football director Sayed Abdel Hafiz announced on Monday that Soliman won’t be fit for Gouna’s match after he suffered a bruise in his chest during the 3-1 loss to Zamalek in Cairo derby clash on Saturday when he accidentally bumped into the Whites’ full back Mohamed Abdel Shafi.
Abdel-Shafi, meanwhile, has been confirmed out of action from six to eight weeks after fracturing his collarbone during the bump with Soliman, according to the team’s doctor.
Ahly remain at the top of the table with 56 points, enjoying a comfortable 14-point lead over second-placed Zamalek.
