Zamalek forward Ahmed ‘Zizo’ Sayed has revealed his frustration about the narrow timeframe between the Egyptian Premier League matches, which he says does not leave suitable time to recover.

“I have not done such a thing before. We only have a two-day break between matches, we don’t have time to recover,” Zizo told Zamalek's TV channel.

“We don’t train hard between matches. We only try to recover as much as possible to prepare ourselves for next games.

“For example, Shikabala is suspended for 10 matches, he’s supposed to miss half the season at least, but he’s returning the next match due to the large number of successive matches,” he added.

Menawhile, Zamalek's veteran skipper Mahmoud ‘Shikabala’ Abdel-Razek has been punished with an eight-game suspension after his inappropriate behavior towards Ahly fans after they insulted him during the Egyptian Super Cup match in February, which ended with the Whites lifting the trophy.

The general manager of football in Zamalek Amir Abdel-Aziz revealed that Shikabala and Mohamed Hassan will be ready for the upcoming match against Pyramids FC in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.

“Shikabala has been training with the team regularly for a while and is ready to participate in games after the end of the suspension,” Abdel-Aziz told Zamalek TV channel.

“Hassan has been training for a while. He was suffering from muscular fatigue, but he’s now ready to participate in the upcoming match,” he added.

Zamalek are welcoming midfielder Hassan to compensate for the absence of Tarek Hamed during Pyramids FC game, after he was hit with a third yellow card in Enppi’s match.

The White Knights are now third placed in the Egyptian Premier League behind Pyramids FC, who have the same 45 points as Zamalek, but with the advantage of a goal difference. So, Thursday’s game will be crucial for both teams in the fight for second place and booking a spot in the next edition of the African Champions League.
