Zamalek's leftback Abdallah Gomaa is confirmed to miss Monday's league game against Smouha after testing positive for coronavirus for the second time in almost a month,. The Whites' midfielder Tarek Hamed has recovered from the virus.
Late in November, the 24-year-old Gomaa contracted the virus to miss the 2-1 loss in the African Champions League final against archrivals Ahly on 27 November before clearing himself 15 December after testing negative.
Meanwhile, the club's key midfielder Hamed announced Sunday that the result of his latest scan is negative. The 32-year-old Hamed tested positive last week alongside defender Mahmoud Alaa.
Zamalek's interim president, Ahmed El-Bakri, passed away Thursday after testing positive for Covid-19, while the team's defender Alaa is still recovering from the highly-contagious virus.
Zamalek are ninth in the domestic league table with four points after they opened their campaign with a 2-0 win over Arab Contractors before being held to a 1-1 draw by Pyramids FC.
