The Muslim Brotherhood are planning to make their own film about the 25 January revolution and the events that led to it since 2004
The Muslim Brotherhood is planning to make a film on the 25 January revolution as part of a series of projects that they are planning to execute.
The MB figure Mohsen Rady, the manager of a media and arts production company, said that the brotherhood is optimistic about the post-revolution atmosphere hoping that sophisticated and meaningful art would return. He emphasized that by that he doesn’t mean Islamic art per se adding that the brotherhood aims to document the revolution.
Despite keeping information about the film undisclosed Rady has assured that the film is not religious one but a film with social and human aspects.
He denied that the film is an attempt to polish the image of the MB. “The role of the MB in the revolution is known to everyone and whoever tries to deny it or question the truth do not even deserve to be discussed with.”
He said that the MB youth will be the ones starring in the new film along with other well-know actors. Yet, until now roles have not been given out. It has not even been decided who will write the film.
Rady hopes that those in the arts field would not be busy discussing the emergence of the MB in the field, adding that the MB contributed a lot to the arts field, since the era of its founder Hassan El Banna.
