Cameroonian midfielder Alex Song stresses desire to remain at Arsenal despite being target of several major clubs
Arsenal’s Cameroonian midfielder Alex Song said on Monday he is happy at Arsenal and he would like to extend his contract with the Gunners.
Reports suggested that the 25-year-old midfielder is on Barcelona’s radar; the club reportedly made a 15 million euro offer for him, while Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg are also keen to acquire his services.
"I am not going to lie if I said there is no interest, but I am at Arsenal and I am happy at Arsenal," Song toldSky Sports.
"Barcelona are the best team in the world, and speculation will always continue until the window closes," he added.
Song, who joined Arsenal in 2005, has two years remaining in his contract with Arsenal, and has given a string of fine performances with the Gunners as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
