The Muslim Brotherhood decides to withdraw from Egypt's parliamentary election amid accusations that the vote was rigged

Egypt's largest opposition group, the Muslim Brotherhood, which held a fifth of the seats in the outgoing parliament, said on Wednesday it was quitting an election race it said was rigged after winning no seats in the first round.

A Brotherhood source confirmed a newspaper report that the group was pulling out from the run-offs in which it was fielding 26 candidates, and said the group's leader would make an official announcement later on Wednesday.
