The Ahly forward faces a lengthy period on the sidelines after rupturing the cruciate ligament in his knee in Sunday's Confederation Cup draw against Etoile du Sahel

Ahly's Egyptian international forward Mohamed 'Gedo' Nagy will be sidelined for up to six months after suffering a serious knee injury during his side's 1-1 draw at Etoile du Sahel in the African Confederation Cup on Sunday.

The 28-year-old was stretchered off 30 minutes into the debut after rupturing the cruciate ligament in his knee.

"Gedo will be sidelined for 6 months as he suffered a rupture of the knee cruciate ligament," read a statement on the club's official website.

Gedo's injury came as a fresh blow for Ahly's interim coach Fathi Mabrouk, a few days after playmaker Abdallah El-Said was ruled out for three months due to a foot injury.
