Shelby Rogers of the Unites States routed the 16th-ranked Carla Suarez Navarro 6-4, 6-0 at the Gastein Ladies event on Thursday to reach her first career WTA quarterfinal.

Rogers, who is ranked 147th and had not beaten a top-50 player before, hit 11 aces and dropped serve only once while holding off 10 break points for the Spaniard, who was seeded third.

The Charleston, South Carolina native, who won three matches to qualify for the main draw, next plays No. 7 Camila Giorgi of Italy, who defeated Austrian wildcard entry Lisa-Maria Moser 6-0, 6-2.
