Coach Carteron satisfied as the DR Congo team kept the lead of Group A in the CAF Champions League
TP Mazembe manager Patrice Carteron expressed relief after the team clinched a 0-0 away draw with Zamalek in Alexandria stadium on Sunday in the fourth round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
"This is a very important step in Mazembe's journey to the semifinals," the Frenchman reacted after the game with the Egypt Cup winners.
Level with the other DR Congo club in Group A; Mazembe are leading with seven points, three ahead Zamalek and Sudanese Al-Hilal.
"Everything is possible now and the upcoming two rounds will determine the qualifiers," added former Mali coach Carteron.
The-43-year-old tactician also praised Zamalek young boss Ahmed Hossam 'Mido', 31, for the team's performance despite difficult conditions.
Carteron took charge of Mazembe last year, succeeding Lamine N'Diaye who resigned after the Corbeaux's failure to qualify for the group stage of the 2013 CAF Champions League.
