EFA board member announces an agreement to play a friendly match with Brazilian Olympic team, reveals that there are also negotiations to play against Morocco

Egypt under-23 team will face Brazil in a friendly match on 9 September, Egyptian Football Association (EFA) board member Hamada El-Masry announced on Sunday.

"The technical staff headed by coach Hossam El-Badry have agreed to play the friendly match against Brazil in Beirut," El-Masry explained to reporters.

"We have reached an agreement about the details with the Brazilian side and now we only wait for EFA board approval.

"We are also in negotiations to arrange a new friendly match against the Moroccan Olympic team in September," he concluded.

El-Badry, who has tested dozens of players in several training camps since taking charge of the team in late November, is to lead the Olympic Pharaohs until the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Upon his appointment, El-Badry vowed to build a new generation of skilled players to aid the senior team in their bid to reach the 2018 World Cup.

Under former coach Hani Ramzy, Egypt qualified for the 2012 Olympics in London for the first time in 20 years. They were knocked out in the quarterfinal after slumping to a 3-0 defeat to Japan.
