Roger Federer will play the opening singles match for Switzerland against Simone Bolelli of Italy in the Davis Cup semifinals.

Stan Wawrinka will face Italian No. 1 Fabio Fognini in Friday's second singles on a hard court at the Palexpo indoor arena.

In Saturday's doubles, Federer and Wawrinka, the 2008 Olympic champions, are scheduled to face Andreas Seppi and Paolo Lorenzi.

The reverse singles are Sunday, with Federer vs. Fognini and Wawrinka vs. Bolelli.

The 18,000-capacity Palexpo is sold out for the three-day series.

The winner will plays France or two-time defending champion Czech Republic in the final, scheduled Nov. 21-23.

Switzerland has never won the Davis Cup, while Italy captured its only title in 1976.
