Based on the novel by Ahmed Mourad, The Blue Elephant was a smash hit this summer
Egyptian action-drama The Blue Elephant is soaring high among fans of Arabic films, scoring an average rating of 8.5 stars out of ten in reviews on popular film website IMDb.
Starring Khaled El-Sawy. Karim Abdel Aziz, Nelly Karim and veteran Lebleba, the action drama flick, which is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Ahmed Mourad, was a smash hit at the Egyptian box office this summer.
According to a press release by Mad Solutions consultancy, the film has received the highest number of fan ratings for an Arabic film on IMDb.
As of 2 October, the film had received almost 14,000 ratings on the Internet Movie Database website.
Released during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday following the end of Ramadan in July, the movie received critical acclaim in Egypt as well as in other Middle Eastern countries such as the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
The film is based on a novel by Ahmed Mourad, which was listed for the Arabic Booker Prize 2012. The Blue Elephant is directed by Marwan Hamed and produced by the Albatros Film Production and Distribution.
