High level Iranian official expected to visit Egypt

An Iranian assistant foreign minister will be making a visit to Egypt soon, according to Iranian news agency Fars, in order to discuss improving relations between both countries


The Iranian news Agency Fars announced Tuesday that an Iranian assistant foreign minister will be making a visit to Egypt soon to discuss improving relations between both countries.

Mohamed Karmy Rad, member of the Iranian Shura Council's foreign relations and national security committee anonounced that this visit comes within the framework of improving relations between both countries.

He indicated that conversations had taken place between Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salhy and his Egyptian counterpart Nabil El Arabi on Monday by phone and added that the visit of the assistant foreign minister comes as a direct result of this conversation.

It is expected that both foreign ministers will meet on the margins of the Non Alliance Movement meetings that are set to take place in Bali, Indonesia at the end of May.
