Alleged Muslim Brotherhood members arrested on charges of inciting violence before planned Islamist protests on Friday

Egypt's police have arrested more alleged Muslim Brotherhood members, with 107 persons detained, the interior ministry's spokesperson said.

The 107 were arrested for "incited and planned violence" ahead of protests planned by Islamists on Friday.

Seven improvised bombs were also defused in Cairo, Alexandria, Sharqiya and Beni Suef, spokesman Hany Abdel-Latif said, according to state-run news agency MENA.

The police have reported finding bombs almost daily since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013.

A Salafist group called for protests on Friday "to preserve Egypt’s Islamic identity" and call for Islamic sharia law.

Police and army forces are implementing a security plan to abort any attempt at terrorising citizens, Abdel-Latif said.
