Egypt and Dortmund striker Mohamed Zidan says he prefers to stick with his post for another year in hopes he will play in the Champions League

Borussia Dortmund (BVB) forward Zidan has stepped up his interest in playing another season with the Bundesliga champions, quashing reports that he may join Egyptian League title holders, Ahly, next summer.

“I prefer to stay with Dortmund for another season because I hope to make an appearance in the European Champions League,” Zidan told a television programme on Saturday.

The 29-year-old attacker didn’t make a full-time appearance with the Bundesliga giants this season, only playing as a substitute during the games that he did participate in.

The former Mainz and Hamburger striker joined Borussia Dortmund in the 2008 season for four years and still has a one year on his contract with BVB.
