Two small explosions halt Cairo-Alexandria train movement

Stoppages in railway services due to bombs have been common since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013


Two small bombs exploded early Sunday on the railway in Kafr El-Zayat City, halting train movements between Cairo and Alexandria.

A maintenance team is repairing the track, local council leader Ahmed El-Shenawy told Aswat Masriya.

The explosions alsoaffected train movement in other parts of the Nile Delta.

Explosives experts have beencombing the area to ensure there are no other devices.

Stoppagesin railway services due to the discovery of small bombs or their detonation have been common since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
