DCAF brings the award winning solo performance An Iliad, performed by Denis O’Hare, to Falaki Theatre, 5-6 April
Based on Robert Eagles’ translation of Homer’s Iliad, and produced by the American theatre company Homer’s Coat, 'An Iliad' is part of DCAF's performance arts programme. Directed by Lisa Peterson, Denis O'Hare is the solo actor.
The performance, which offers a deep exploration of the Trojan War, reflecting on the horrors of war, whether historical or contemporary, has won an Obie Award, an off-Broadway theatre award in New York, and the Lortel Award.
Homer’s Coat explores classic literature through adaptation and improvisation, based on the collaboation of its two members, Lisa Peterson and Denis O’Hare.
Actor O’Hare has won a Tony Award and has worked in television and films including, The Dallas Buyers Club and 21 Grams. He was nominated for an Emmy Award for his role in the television show American Horror Story.
