Ismaily condemned to seventh spot of the league table following a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of ENPPI

ENPPI registered an emphatic 3-0 victory over Ismaily who almost lost hope of vying for the Egyptian league title this season.

An Ahmed Gaafar goal and a brace from midfielder Mahmoud Kaoud left the Dervishes seventh in the table on 33 points, 18 adrift of league leaders Zamalek.

ENPPI cemented their position in the second place with 47 points, four ahead of Ahly who played a game less.

Ismaily, on the other side, will also have an uphill battle if they are to seal a qualifying spot for the Confederation Cup.

Their defeat followed a run of a six-match unbeaten streak, the last of which was a 1-1 draw with defending champions Ahly last week.

Elsewhere, Wadi Degla and Alexandria’s Ittihad played out a goalless draw in Cairo.

Degla are now fifth of the league table with 36 points, whereas Ittihad are 10th on 32.

Another match that ended in a draw was Ittihad El-Shorta’s 1-1 stalemate with Ragaa.

Tarek Selim gave hosts Ittihad a 29th-minute lead before Islam Fouad equalized for Ragaa 20 minutes from time.

Ittihad El-Shorta now lie 11th level on points with Alexandria’s Ittihad, but the latter have a better goal difference.

Meanwhile, lowly Ragaa are 17th - four points off the relegation zone.
