Egypt's general prosecution issued arrest warrants for the son of Muslim Brotherhood leader Mahmoud Ghozlan, among13 other students who were charged with inciting violence and riots in Cairo University, Ahram Arabic news website reported on Monday.

Security forces were able to arrest the 13 students during the clashes that took place in Cairo University between Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated students and the private security forces on Sunday afternoon.

Nine members of the security forces were injured in the clashes, while three students were bruised and taken to hospital.

Investigations showed that Yehia Mahmoud Ghozlan, a third-year business student in Cairo University, was arranging a march on campus and picked a fight with the security personnel, who tried to control the march, but were subsequently attacked by the students.

Ghozlan was previously arrested in July 2014 for filming his detained brother on the way to prison.

Egyptian authorities issued an arrest warrant, as well as travel ban last year for Mahmoud Ghozlan, who was formerly a Muslim Brotherhood spokesperson.

He is accused of inciting violence on several occasions after the 2013 ousting of president Mohamed Morsi,who hails from the Brotherhood, but has not yet been apprehended by police.
