Confederation Cup title holders Ahly get a boost ahead of their trip to Tunisia following the return from injury of striker Amr Gamal and defender Hussein El-Sayed
Ahly's long-term absentee Amr Gamal is ready to give Ahly much-needed firepower upfront after recovering from injury ahead of a vital CAF Confederation Cup clash away to Tunisia's Club Africain next weekend.
Gamal, widely acclaimed for his aerial prowess, has been out of action since rupturing a cruciate knee ligament last October. Ahly struggled for effectiveness upfront without the 23-year-old, with other fellow strikers including foreign duo PeterEbimobowei andSaladin Said failing to impress.
Regular left-back Hussein El-Sayed is also ready to return to action after a month out through a shoulder injury.
Title holders Ahly are scheduled to face Tunisian side Club Africain on 6 June in the second leg of the Confederation Cup round of 16. The Red Devils won the first leg 2-1 in Cairo.
"Amr Gamal and Hussein El-Sayed are injury-free and ready to travel with the team to Tunisia," Ahly doctor khaled Mahmoud said on the club's official website.
The duo's return comes as a relief for Ahly, who are already missing other key players such as Moemen Zakareya, Mahmoud Hassan 'Trezeguet', Hossam Ashour and Ahmed Abdel-Zaher due to injuries.
Ahly have almost lost hopes of winning the Egyptian Premier League title for a ninth straight time, having fallen 11 points behind leaders and arch-rivals Zamalek, who still have a game in hand over their Cairo foes.
