Maritimo didn't receive the second instalment of Mohamed Ibrahim's return deal to Zamalek according to Portuguese newspaper Record
Portuguese club Maritimo have officially lodged a complaint with FIFA against Egyptian counterpart Zamalek for not receiving late financial dues from them.
Zamalek playmaker Mohamed Ibrahim, 23, joined Maritimo in August 2014, but only made seven appearances in three months.
The player suddenly decided to end his brief Portuguese spell, returning home without the club's permission.
However, following a months long dispute with Maritimo, Zamalek welcomed their talented star back home as they signed him again last January on a five year-contract starting from the coming season.
The Cairo giants agreed to pay Maritimo 500,000 euros in 10 installments to finalise the deal.
According to Portuguese sports newspaper Record on Tuesday, Maritimo officials lodged the complaint as Zamalek failed to pay the second installment of Ibrahim's come-back deal that was due earlier this month.
Ibrahim helped the Whites win the last two editions of the Egypt Cup. He also made a few appearances with the Egyptian national team.
Zamalek are closing in on winning their first Egyptian Premier League since 2004 as they lead the table with 70 points, nine points ahead of title-holders Ahly.
