Thanks to the visual effects made that involve the most recent technologies, One Thousand and One Nights (Alf Leila w Leila) will not be any less impressive than Hollywood movies, said the Lebanese actress Nicole Saba who plays the main protagonist Scheherazade in the popular Ramadan series.

The star explained that the Alf Leila w Leila series is a great production using modern technologies. Its graphics team included several experts from the United States and Poland, who have already worked on international films, such as Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, MENA agency reported.

The series is inspired by the famous tale of One Thousand and One Nights, in which the King, Shahrayar, kills a woman every night until Scheherazade uses her wittiness and story telling skills to intrigue him for 1001 nights and save her own life.

The show, however, presents the story with “a modern twist”, as Scheherazade decides to take revenge for all the women that the king killed, Saba reveals.

“The team wanted to portray the old tales and through them communicate the moral messages to the young generations, who have always heard about them but never had the chance to watch them or read them,” Saba said.

“This is why the same technologies that are used in Hollywood fantasy films were incorporated into the series,” she added.

Scheduled to run during the month of Ramadan, Alf Leila w Leila will star Nicole Saba alongside Egyptian cast Sherif Mounir, Asser Yasin, Youssef Shaaban, Nada Bassiouny and Kamal Abou Raya.

The series is written by Mohamed Nayer and directed by Raouf Abdel Aziz.
