Gomaa ends speculation about a possible change for his upcoming destination after confirming his signing with Cairo giants Ahly
Egyptian midfielder Saleh Gomaa has confirmed he initially signed a five-year contract with Ahly.
"I swear to God I have already signed an unconditional five-year contract for Ahly,"ENPPI'sinternational player stated via his Twitter account late Monday.
"I confirmed my desire to join Ahly for ENPPI's president and if the move fails, playing in Europe will be my upcoming destination," he added.
The 21-year-old, who has just ended his loan spell with Portuguese side Nacional to rejoin the petroleum club, has been chased by both Cairo rivals Ahly and Zamalek.
Gomaa’s statement ended speculations about the player's future caused by his unclear earlier statements when he left the door open for "a better offer than Ahly's."
"I made my earlier statements just to stress that ENPPI gets the most benefit from my departure," Gomaa added.
Gomaa joined Nacional during the 2014 season on loan from ENPPI. He made 30 appearances, scoring two goals for the Portuguese side.
The title-holders Ahly are third in the Egyptian Premier League table with 61 points, nine behind arch-rivals and leaders Zamalek.
