Cairo and Alexandria brace for a rich cultural week that will include Ramadan evenings in the unique setting of Fatimid Cairo, World Music Day celebrations, concerts by Egyptian and regional musicians, theatre plays and more

Violinist and photographer Christian Stejskal will combine storytelling, photography and playing the violin to talk about his 7000km journey on foot from his birth land in Vienna to Cairo's Al-Zabaleen neighborhood.

The performance will be followed by a talk in which Stejskal will discuss his photography approach. (Registration required).

‘‘3eish baladi’”: a Ramadan night comprising of a number of theatre performances, photography exhibitions as well as a music event titled ‘Poetry in the Arms of Music’ which brings together Egyptian poet Amin Haddad; singer, composer and oud player Hazem Shaheen, Eskendrella band and artist Doaa Hamza.

The event is organised by Madad, a foundation that aims at supporting culture in Egypt.
