Egypt football league games rescheduled for remainder of Ramadan
Ahram Online, , Wednesday 24 Jun 2015
Egyptian Premier League games for the remainder of the holy month of Ramadan have been pushed back by half an hour, kicking-off at 22:00 Cairo Local Time (GMT +2) instead of 21:30.

"After security authorities gave the green light, the Football Committee decided to start matches at 22:00 starting Wednesday," the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on Wednesday.

Muslims are obligated to not eat or drink during the day hours of the Islamic holy month from sunrise to sunset.

The half hour delay is an attempt to give players enough time to digest their Iftar meals, usually consumed around 19:00.

The first league round held in Ramadan Saturday and Sunday ended with eight draws out of ten matches, five of them were goalless matches.

Two matches will be held Wednesday with Talae El-Geish hosting Assiouti Sports and Dakhleya clashing with Ismaily.
