El-Sulaya will not be joining Ahly as Ismaily insist he will remain until the end of his current contract, which expires next summer

Egyptian club Ismaily have confirmed that talented midfielder Amr El-Sulaya is not for sale after recent reports have claimed that he will soon join bitter rivals Ahly.

"The recent news that El-Sulaya has secretly signed a contract for one of the Egyptian clubs is completely unacceptable, especially since it is a clear affront to both the club management and the fans," Ismaily said in a statement on their official website late Monday.

Recent reports in Egyptian media claimed that Ahly have reached an agreement with the international midfielder pending Ismaily's approval.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been a target for a long time for the Red Devils to boost their midfield ahead of the new season.

The player refused both an offer from an Emirati club and to ink a new deal beyond the end of his current contract, which expires in June 2016 amid reports that he is pushing for a move to Ahly.

"El-Sulaya is not for sale inside Egypt whatever the temptations. The player will remain until the end of his contract out of respect for the club fans," the statement added.

"By no means will we be forced to let the player go. His only choice will be to renew his contract or he will face a difficult future," the coastal club said.

Ahly recently missed out on the chance of winning a ninth straight Egyptian league title, with Cairo rivals Zamalek ending an 11-year drought by delivering an outstanding performance throughout the season.

Ahly came in second place with 79 points at the end of the competition, eight behind the champions. Ismaily finished sixth with 55 points.
