Algeria still lead the African countries in 19th place

Egypt have climbed three positions in the FIFA global football rankings to No. 52, in figures published on Thursday.

Algeria are still leading the African nations in 19th place, ahead of Ivory Coast (21), Ghana (27), Tunisia (34) and Senegal (39).

World Cup winner Germany dropped to No. 3 in the latest FIFA rankings, with beaten finalist Argentina still at No. 1.

The Netherlands fell seven places to No. 12, also because its third-place finish in Brazil counts for less in FIFA's calculations over a four-year cycle.

Colombia stays at No. 4, and Brazil and Portugal each rise one to Nos. 5 and 6, respectively.

Copa America winner Chile climbs one to No. 10.

Mexico used its Gold Cup title to rise 14 places to No. 26. Runner-up Jamaica is up 21 to No. 55.

The United States, beaten by Jamaica in the semifinals, improves five places to No. 29.

Argentina jumped two places, to knock out World Cup winner Germany from the top position.
