Egypt’s first VIP train will start operating Monday, an event which will be attended by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and Transportation Minister Hani Dahi, Al-Ahram's Arabic news website reported.



The train will leave Cairo station in Ramsis at 3pm and Alexandria station at 7:30pm.



The train has already undergone its trial operation and all technical analysis regarding safety factors has been conducted.



The new train is equipped with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi internet service, health services including a medic for urgent cases, and security cameras in every vehicle, Transportation Ministry spokesperson Ayman El-Shereay said Sunday.



Seats in first class will cost LE100 and second class will be LE70. Both are air-conditioned.



The train consists of three first-class and five second-class cars as well as a dining car.



Head of the Arab Organization for Industrialization Abdel-Aziz Seif-Eddin and Railway Authority Head Ahmed Hamed will also attend the train’s inauguration.



It is Egypt’s first air-conditioned train, which is part of a supply contract for 23 trains, or 212 trains cars, manufactured at the Arab Organization for Industrialization's Semaf factory and over 50 percent of the trains’ components were locally manufactured, reports El-Shereay.
