The trial of several policemen who have been charged in connection with the killings of protesters has been adjourned

Families of martyrs of the revolution in Alexandria protested today against the release of the officers accused of killing the protesters during the January 25 Revolution, by blocking the town’s Corniche road.

Demonstrators holding aloft photos of their murdered sons and relatives gathered on Friday morning at Qaed Ibrahim mosque, chanting against the decision by Alexandria’s criminal court to adjourn to mid-October the trial of the head of security and other officers accused of pre-meditated murder during the January 25 Revolution.

General Mohamed Ibrahim, head of Alexandria Security, and other policemen, were indicted on charges of either ordering of executing the killing of peaceful protesters in the early days of the revolt.
