Man injured by US diplomatic car during revolution dies

The US embassy earlier revealed that the car was stolen and that they were not involved in the accident


Mahmoud Khaled, the young man who was injured after a diplomatic car ran over him on 28 January, the infamous “Friday of Anger,” died early today.

The funeral will be held at the Omar Makram Mosque after the afternoon prayer and will be followed by a march to Tahrir Square.

The video of a white diplomatic car running over protesters went viral during the revolution. The car was believed to have belonged to the US embassy, however the embassy later revealed that the car belongs to them but was stolen and that they were not involved in the accident.
