Proverb of the day: A lover's gaze can be easily recognised and so can the gaze of one's enemy عين الحبيب تبان و لها دلايل وعين العدو تبان ولها دلايل
عين الحبيب تبان و لها دلايل وعين العدو تبان ولها دلايل
Ein el habib teban we laha dalayel, we ein el adu teban we laha dalayel
Translation: A lover's gaze can be easily recognised and so can the gaze of one's enemy
Meaning: Both love and hate are easy to spot if you pay attention. This saying, composed in the form of a quatrain, is now extinct, but it is a pleasure to read because of its poetic texture. In most folk poetry, you are allowed to keep the rhythm going by ending your lines on the same word, in this case “dalayel” or signs.
