Egyptian coach Hector Cuper has called up 10 players from Zamalek and two goalkeepers from other clubs for the Pharaohs games against Chad in the African qualifiers for the 2018 Russia World Cup.

Egypt will play Chad on 14 November away three days before hosting them at home.

This will give Zamalek a more than a 40-day break from the Egyptian Premier League as the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced that any club with more than two international players would have their league matches postponed.

The 10 Zamalek players called-up are goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawi, defenders Ahmed Dwidar and Hazem Emam, midfielders Omar Gaber, Ahmed Tawfik, Tarek Hamed, Mahmoud 'Kahraba' Abdel-Menem and Ibrahim Salah. The strikers include Ahmed Hassan and Mekky and Bassem Morsi.

The goalkeepers included are Smouha's El-Mahdy Soliman with Petrojet's Mohamed El- Shennawi also being called up for the camp.

Five foreign-based players were listed earlier including Italy's Roma winger Mohamed Salah, Switzerland's Basel midfielder Mohamed El-Nenny, Portugal's Braga Ahmed "Kouka" Hassan, Saudi's Ahly winger Mohamed Abdel-Shafy and Greece's Panetolikos midfielder Amr Warda.

Cuper will announce the Ahly players after their game with Maqassa on Thursday.

While Egypt were given a bye based on their FIFA ranking, Chad scraped into the second round of the qualifiers on the away goal rule following a 2-2 aggregate draw with Sierra Leone.

The winners of the second-round games will be drawn into five four-team groups, with the leaders directly reaching the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.

Egypt's last appearance in the world's most prestigious football tournament was in 1990.
