Zamalek coach Jesualdo Ferriera says he is unconcerned with Bassem Morsi’s barren run, insisting the misfiring striker will start scoring again soon.

Morsi's scoreless run extended to eight matches in all competitions as the front man failed to find the net against Chad in Egypt's 1-0 loss on Saturday in the World Cup qualifiers. Though the Portuguese coach defended the striker who scored 19 goals for his side last season.

"The goals will come for Morsi – I'm not at all worried about that," Ferriera told Zamalek's official website on Sunday.

"He is a good striker but he is suffering from significant fatigue."

"It is not normal that a player play this number of games without a rest."

The 24-year-old striker was instrumental in Zamalek's triumphant campaign last season that saw the club win the double (Egyptian League and Cup) for the first time since 1988.

Morsi has not scored any goals since his double against Ahly in the final of the Egypt Cup in September.
